Enable Reflow in Adobe Reader LE on windows Mobile

One of the main reasons I consider Adobe Reader a must for any Pocket PC is its Reflow capability. Reflow wraps up your text in such a way that you dont have to navigate sideways to read a line. You can also zoom in and out in order to ensure maximum readability. This makes your PDA an e-book reader, thus you can download and read virtually any book from the net. A screen shot is attached showing a document with and without reflow.

(Without Reflow – Note that all page is not visible on single screen. To read the entire line the reader must navigate right and left)

(Reflow – Note that the text has been wrapped to fit on a single screen, no need to navigate)

On most devices you can access it from within Adobe Reader LE, going to Tools > View > Reflow.

Yesterday I flashed my HTC Touch Diamond with a new ROM and was extremely disappointed when I tried to view a document in reflow view as this feature was disabled in by default. I searched the net and came up with this solution.

All you need is a registry editor and you can re-enable it in no time. If you dont have a registry editor, get one here Schap’s Registry Editor. Now simply edit the registry as follows:

Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\AdobeReaderLE.25

change the value of EnableReflow from 0 to 1 soft reset
