Twitter hacked by “Iranian Cyber Army”

Twitter, whilst a popular social networking site, has had a few issues with security during its lifetime. Not too long ago, documents regarding the plans of Twitter were discovered due to password issues. Tonight, the site was taken down by the “Iranian Cyber Army”, for a short period of time.

According to TechCrunch, the attack happened at about 10PM, and those responsible left a message stating:

ranian Cyber Army
THIS SITE HAS BEEN HACKED BY IRANIAN CYBER ARMY

iRANiAN.CYBER.ARMY@GMAIL.COM

U.S.A. Think They Controlling And Managing Internet By Their Access, But THey Don’t, We Control And Manage Internet By Our Power, So Do Not Try To Stimulation Iranian Peoples To….

NOW WHICH COUNTRY IN EMBARGO LIST? IRAN? USA?
WE PUSH THEM IN EMBARGO LIST ;)
Take Care.

Apparently, the very same attack happened on the site mowjcamp, though Twitter’s official statement, found here, dismisses it as ‘unplanned downtime’ for the time being. They have since updated the status post to note, “Twitter’s DNS records were temporarily compromised but have now been fixed. We are looking into the underlying cause and will update with more information soon.”
